We work above ratio in all age groups, each of our under 3’s learning spaces with a ratio of 1:3 and our over 3’s learning programs have a ratio of 1:6
We have permanent educators who relieve in rooms to ensure consistency for children during routines and transitions and during periods of staff leave.
The educational Leader supports the Centre culture and community through leading the development and implementation of the educational curriculum, documentation and assessment, as well as the planning cycle. The educational leader is supported by Centre’s leadership team to effect positive change, including playing an integral role in mentoring, guiding and supporting educators.
Our Room Coordinators are highly skilled educators, who are flexible, decisive, innovative and are responsive to the change process. Room Coordinators are responsible to manage the day to day operation of the designated room; this entails, effective supervision of all children and educators, management and implementation of the children’s programs, documentation and record keeping, mentoring and training educators to upskill to leadership roles, meeting the needs of all families and children. Possessing the skills and knowledge to effectively lead their team throughout the day.
Our Room Leaders are supported by their team and Room Coordinators in all aspects of daily running of the rooms and meeting the care and learning needs of the children.
The approved provider of Geelong Children’s Centre (Geelong and District Day Nursery Inc.) is the Board of Management.
