It helps children to understand why the environment is important and provides them with the building blocks they need to live eco-friendly and sustainable lives. Children are encouraged to research, investigate how and why things happen, and form their own opinions on complex issues rather than just being told information.
Our Community Garden encourages families to participate in our sustainable practices. We believe children can develop new skills and have fun while gardening for example by tending to their own plants, they can learn about the science and the nature from growing their own food, weather and the environment, and about healthy eating. There is a variety of interesting activities children and parents can be involved in, such as planting, mulching, weeding and cooking.
